Basically the Friday Khutbah is a form of Dhikrullah and it is absolutely necessary for the 'Ibaadah of Dhikr to be executed in the language of the Qur'an. Allahu ta 'ala says in the Qur'an: O believers, when you are called for Salaah on the day of Jumu'ah. hasten to the Dhikr of Allah. (Suratul Jumu'ah)

The khutbah (sermon) is an integral part of the Friday prayer service. Both the khutbah and the ritual prayer are almost equally important, as it is incumbent upon the mass to listen to the khutbah with due attention and then pray in congregation.
End quote from an-Nihaayah (5/142). There is a general etiquette for giving sincere advice to which the one who is compassionate towards the Muslims should adhere. It is not permissible to say Yarhamuk-Allaah (may Allaah have mercy on you) to one who sneezes or to return salaams whilst the imam is delivering the khutbah, according to the correct scholarly opinion, because both of them involve speaking, which is forbidden when the imam is delivering the khutbah, because of the general meaning of the hadeeth.The Prophet’s life and the way he translated the Islamic message into real life examples holds continuing and living lessons for us to internalize, as they have the ability to transform our lives into something other than what we have been mired in for a long time.
